How do I live stream and event?

To video stream a live event, it is important to have the appropriate hardware installed on your computer. Ideally the machine should be a Windows XP or later and must have a video capture card installed. The preferred video cards apStream use are:  

Osprey-700 HD high-definition video capture card.  

Osprey 240e - Mid level video card  

Osprey 100 - Entry level video card  

apStream can supply your organisation with the appropriate video cards to suit various live streaming solutions. Once the card is installed, please follow the steps below to live streama an event. 
To begin using the apstream network you will need the following:

1) A Windows XP or Later installation on a laptop or workstation. The machine ideally should be a p4 or greater.

2)For Flash and H.264 Streaming  Flash Media Live Encoder Download here  or for Windows Media Encoder 9.0- WME9 is free to download from the following Microsoft link. Windows Media Encoder 9.0

3) An input device such as a webcam and or microphone. If none of these are available. It is possible to play a movie from your hard disk or use an audio source via your sound card.

4) The encoding profile contains the information for you to connect to the apStream network and your username and password to begin streaming.

Email: info@apstream.net for your encoding profile.

Once you have your profile, username and password you are ready to begin broadcasting.
